Job summary

The Little Sweethearts Montessori in Camberley is offering an apprenticeship for an aspiring Early Years Practitioner. You will gain the EYFS qualification while earning hands-on experience, building meaningful relationships with children, colleagues and parents, and contributing to daily care and education.

This role is based at 2 Upper Gordon Road, Camberley, GU15 2HN. Salary starts at apprentice wage of £8 per hour, with a 46-hour week and patterns Monday to Thursday 8:00–17:30 and Friday

Qualifications

• Aspiring to gain the Early Years Practitioner qualification while working with children.
• Enthusiastic and ambitious with a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and early years education to children aged 0-5.
• Support development through age-appropriate activities and play-based learning.
• Observe, assess, and document progress within EYFS framework.
• Plan and implement a curriculum meeting individual child needs.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ensure safety and prioritise children's well-being.
• Promote positive behaviour, social skills and emotional development.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment following health and safety guidelines.
• Assist with daily routines including meals, nappy changes and naps.
• Attend team meetings, training and professional development.

Summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring apprentice to join our team. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are ambitious and want to gain Early Years Practitioner qualification while getting experience. You'll create meaningful relationships with the children, your team and with parents.

Salary: £8.00 per hour (Apprentice Wage)
Hours: 46 hours a week
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8am - 5:30pm and Friday 8am - 4:30 pm

There is also a term time only role available.

What you’ll do at work

• Provide high-quality care and early years education to children aged 0-5.
• Support children’s development through age-appropriate activities and play-based learning.
• Observe, assess, and document children's progress in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Work closely with the team to plan and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of individual children.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ensure that children are safe, and their well-being is always a priority.
• Promote and encourage positive behaviour, social skills, and emotional development.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
• Support with daily routines, including mealtimes, nappy changes, and nap times.
• Participate in regular team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
