Job summary

Tiny Acorns nursery is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to support daily activities and provide a safe, nurturing environment for young children. You will work with lead educators to promote development and well‑being, and we will support an apprenticeship in Childcare alongside your role.

You will supervise play, support routines, and communicate with parents about development. On‑site training and progression opportunities are available, with a 9–5 workday outside of shifted hours and

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in early years preferable; Maths & English GCSE or functional skills; we will support if not present.
• Commitment to young children and learning through play.
• Willingness to undertake apprenticeship alongside work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Encourage social skills and emotional development through effective communication.
• Communicate with parents daily and at parents evenings about child progress.
• Support children in daily routines: meals, naps and personal hygiene.
• Maintain a clean, organised nursery environment and safe equipment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive, growth‑oriented atmosphere.
• Assist with behaviour management per nursery policies and promote positive interactions.
• Support learning through creative play and document learning journeys for each child.
