Vacancy Description

As a Level 3 apprentice working in the baby room, your duties and responsibilities will include:

1. To meet children’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs by providing stimulating and age-appropriate play and learning opportunities in the classroom, as directed by the Headteacher. To supervise the children where appropriate and to protect them from dangerous or harmful situations, as directed by the Headteacher.
2. To provide a high level of care that will enhance the children’s general health and well-being and to ensure that all toys and equipment are clean and safe at all times.
3. Carry out observations (as required) in order to establish that the children’s general health and well-being is being enhanced.
4. To support and develop the provision of a variety of outdoor activities to cover all areas of the children’s development as well as supervising outdoor play in all weathers.

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. La Chouette will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:

1. Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
2. Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
3. Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
4. Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This will be delivered through La Chouette's dedicated training provider, Realise.
