Vacancy Description

1. Contribute to a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children
2. Assist in keeping records of children’s development and share this with other key adults in the child’s life
3. Engage in good team working
4. Liaise with and support parents and other family members
5. Attend out of working hours activities, for example: training, and monthly staff meetings
6. Be flexible within working practices of the nursery, including certain domestic tasks, for example: preparation of snacks, and cleaning equipment
7. Work alongside staff team to ensure the nursery’s philosophy is fulfilled
8. Read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as appropriate
9. Constantly aware of the individual needs of all children
10. Ensure someone known and agreed by the nursery and parent collects the child
11. Respect the confidentiality of all information received

Specific Childcare Tasks:

1. Assist in the preparation and completion of activities to suit each individual child's stage of development and interests
2. Ensure meal times are a time of pleasant social sharing
3. Washing and changing children as required

General Duties:

1. Observe health and safety procedures and work safely at all times
2. Be responsible for your own continuing self-development, undertaking training as appropriate to the working environment and location and developments in your role
3. Promote and safeguard the welfare of children for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact
4. Undertake any other duties as required by your manager in order to meet the changing needs and demands of the nursery
5. Conduct yourself with professionalism, tact and diplomacy at all times as a representative of Green Door Nursery
