Job summary

Davenport Lodge Nursery School, part of Inspired Education Group, is seeking qualified Early Years Educators to support growth in child numbers and deliver play-based learning for 2-5 year olds. We offer Level 3 training via our apprenticeship levy scheme. The school operates year-round hours from 07:45 to 18:00, with rotas to cover these times, and a competitive salary dependent

Qualifications

• Recognised Early Years teaching qualification.
• Experience working with children aged 2-5 in an Early Years or nursery setting.
• Understanding of child development and early years pedagogy, including knowledge of EYFS, Reggio Emilia, or equivalent frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong classroom management, organisation, and planning skills with a focus on high-quality learning outcomes.
• A passionate, child-centred approach with the ability to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
• A reflective and adaptable mindset, committed to continuous improvement and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, play-based Early Years education for children aged 2-5.
• Plan and implement engaging learning experiences that support holistic development (cognitive, social, emotional, and physical).
• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and wellbeing.
• Observe, assess, and track children's progress, using evidence to inform planning and next steps.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and learning progress.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality Early Years provision.
• Support early language, communication, numeracy, and social development through structured and play-based activities.
• Contribute to the wider school community, including events, trips, and extracurricular activities.
• Implement safeguarding, behaviour, and pastoral care policies consistently.
• Reflect on practice and engage in continuous professional development to improve outcomes for learners.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Davenport Lodge Nursery School has been delivering education since 1968. We aim to provide a supportive, structured environment where babies and children, as they develop, are encouraged to recognise their individuality, efforts and achievements as happy and secure individuals in learning and social environments. Emotional, social and personal development are prioritised; in addition, our nursery school offers partnerships with parents through strong home-school links, which help to reinforce the wellbeing and development of children.

Robust values and personal standards are promoted across school life. In the modern world, change is inevitable and rapid; in spite of this, however, we firmly believe that some standards should not change. Children are encouraged to develop good manners and an understanding of rules and how they help us. In addition, learners are taught to display personal values based on honesty, trust, understanding, caring and respect for diversity and other cultures.

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Early Years Educators to join our Early Years team, to support with the growth in our children numbers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment within a dynamic international school community.

We can support you with Level 3 training via our apprenticeship levy scheme.

We can offer a competitive salary with a range from £13 - £15 per hour (£25,688 - £29,640) for the right candidate depending on experience and qualifications. Our school is open all year round from 07.45am to 6pm and we operate rotas that support these hours.
