Job summary

Cheshire West and Chester Council is strengthening its Early Years Team to ensure funded early years education is delivered with high quality, inclusivity, and in line with government guidance.

You will work mostly from home in a Fully Agile role, travelling to childcare providers and council offices across Cheshire West and Chester and occasionally attending regional meetings to support improvement and sector sustainability.

Qualifications

• Carrying out audits, monitoring performance and checking compliance with requirements.
• Quality assurance, service improvement or contract management.
• Responding to enquiries and complaints professionally and effectively.
• Building positive working relationships and working in partnership with providers, families, colleagues and other professionals.
• Analysing complex information, producing clear reports and making informed recommendations.
• Understanding how organisations and markets operate, with good commercial awareness.
• Applying government guidance and explaining requirements clearly to a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Audit providers to ensure funded childcare places are delivered correctly and in line with government requirements.
• Monitor quality and support improvement through checks and assurance activities.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with providers, parents and partners to inform service development.
• Support data collection and reporting to inform policy and practice.
• Travel to childcare providers and council offices to carry out checks and attend meetings.
