Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Autism Practitioner to support pupils in a primary school in Bridgend. The role involves providing 1-to-1 support to pupils requiring additional assistance throughout the school day. The position can be full-time or part-time, offering flexible hours to accommodate different pupil needs.

Ideal candidates will have experience with autism, whether personal or professional, and possess a positive attitude with strong rapport-building skills with pupils and staff. Additional training such as manual handling and first aid is advantageous and may lead to further opportunities within the school. Reliability and preparedness with necessary documentation are essential for a smooth onboarding process.

Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure pupils are engaged in all sessions.
  2. Assist with personal care tasks as needed.
  3. Implement techniques to manage challenging behaviour appropriately.
  4. Participate in relevant training and courses as required.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Enhanced DBS check and registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
