Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting an Early Years Assistant for Murrayburn EYCC (nursery class) on a fixed-term basis until 29 June 2027. The post is 15 hours per week across 38 weeks per year, with a pro-rata salary in the £26,806–£27,032 range.

SSSC registration is required, and PVG Scheme checks will be completed as part of pre-employment safeguarding. Applications from diverse backgrounds are encouraged.

Early Years Assistant - Fixed Term until 29/06/2027
Murrayburn EYCC (nursery class)
Salary: £26,806-£27,032 (pro rata for part time and sessional)
Hours 15 per week, 38 weeks sessional

Murrayburn Primary nursery class is in our school in the Sighthill area in the west of the city. We have a team of Early years professionals that you will support to give our pupils a fun and creative learning environment.

Experience in early years is welcome and SSSC registration is a requirement for the role.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. Anunconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
