Overview

Early Years Assistant - fixed term until 19/08/2026

Forest Kindergarten based in woodlands and parks across the City of Edinburgh. Salary: £25,905 - £26,111 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional). Hours: 14 per week, 39 weeks sessional.

About the role

Forest Kindergartens are fully outdoor Early Learning and Childcare settings, based in woodlands and parks across the City of Edinburgh. We support children's learning and development through connections to nature, community, people and through developing life-long skills, resilience, curiosity and a love for the natural world.

Responsibilities
  • Work 14 hours per week, Monday & Tuesday 8.00am - 3.30pm with a 30 minute lunch break.
  • Support children\'s learning and development in an outdoor woodland setting.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
  • PVG Scheme check or update; Overseas Criminal Record Check if applicable.
  • You may be required to provide these checks; commencement subject to satisfactory checks.
