Reception and Year 1 Teacher

Long - Term Teachers has an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher with extensive experience in a specialist setting. Based in Salisbury, the school supports students aged 4 - 19, all with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties.

The headteacher seeks a dedicated individual with stamina and resilience to work in a challenging environment. Experience in managing support staff and building positive relationships is essential.

Work hours are 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. Starting in January 2025, the position is permanent.

Key duties include:

  • Preparing, providing, and reviewing class activities to promote effective learning and responsibility among students
  • Consulting with parents regarding progress and achievements
  • Ensuring safety, good behavior, and positive attitudes in students
  • Taking responsibility for at least one subject specialism
  • Contributing to pastoral work within the educational setting

About you:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • At least 3 years UK teaching experience
  • Experience with CYP with SEND, understanding Autism and learning barriers
  • Knowledge of supporting non-verbal CYP and developing communication skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding practices for children and vulnerable adults
