Job Description:

Make a meaningful impact on the next generation of accounting and tax professionals.

At Moore Kingston Smith, we’re proud of the strong learning culture that underpins our success. We’re currently looking for a passionate and experienced Early Talent Advisor to join our Early Talent team on a maternity cover basis, supporting our talented cohort of over 300 trainees as they work toward qualifications including ACA, AAT, ATT, and CTA.

This role sits within our wider Talent Development function and plays a pivotal part in ensuring our school leavers, placement students, and graduates thrive during their training contracts or placements.

Contract: Full-time, fixed term from mid-August 2025 to mid-September 2026

Key Responsibilities

As one of three Early Talent Advisors, you’ll be the go-to person for your assigned cohort of trainees and the primary liaison for managers and partners across the business. You’ll work closely with training providers such as First Intuition, Kaplan, and BPP, and maintain strong links with professional bodies including ICAEW, AAT, and CIOT.

  • Manage and continuously improve the Industrial Placement and Summer Placement schemes.
  • Deliver internal training sessions and support external tutors in running ISP modules.
  • Partner with training providers and regulators to oversee and refine training pathways.
  • Support the full trainee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to development and performance reviews.
  • Conduct regular well-being check-ins with trainees and provide ongoing support.
  • Collaborate with the Early Talent Manager, Training Managers, and HR to address performance matters and support contract transitions.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

We’re looking for someone who is not only experienced in trainee/apprenticeship development but also genuinely passionate about helping people reach their full potential.

You’ll bring:

  • A background in learning & development, ideally working with early careers or apprenticeship programmes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience navigating professional qualifications or regulated training environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Bonus if you have:

  • Knowledge of accounting, audit, or tax qualifications.
  • Experience working with apprenticeship standards and frameworks.
Benefits
  • Salary Reviews: Twice a year to recognise your contributions.
  • Generous Annual Leave: Enjoy 25 days plus three days off at Christmas.
  • Flexible Working: We're committed to a positive work-life balance, offering a hybrid working policy that prioritises your well-being and flexibility.
  • Comprehensive Wellbeing Support: Access to Digicare+, Employee Assistance Programme, and more!
  • Professional Subscriptions: Invest in your growth and development.
  • Inclusive Employer: Be part of a diverse team with equity, inclusion, and flexibility at the core.
