An exciting opportunity to join the Housing Service as a Prevention Officer, a new role created due to demand. You will provide an effective homelessness prevention service on behalf of the Council, offering a full range of housing advice and options in both private and public sectors, in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. Your role will involve working with stakeholders to identify those threatened with homelessness early, ensuring the Council's responsibilities are met effectively.
Effective early intervention is central to the success of the housing service, aiming to identify and address issues before they escalate, thereby preventing crises rather than just reacting to them.
You will need a diverse set of skills including communication, empathy, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, along with technical knowledge and adaptability. These skills will help you understand customer needs, resolve issues, build relationships, and provide excellent service.
