Job summary

A local authority in Renfrewshire is looking for an enthusiastic Early Learning Support Worker to assist nursery officers with early learning and childcare. The ideal candidate will help with lunchtimes, work with individual or groups of children, and organize playrooms. Renfrewshire Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Early Learning Support Worker.

You will be part of a team assisting nursery officers in the delivery of early learning and childcare, including supporting lunchtimes, working with individual or groups of children, and organizing playrooms.

Essential qualifications: Demonstrate a commitment and ability to undertake the required qualification in early learning and childcare in line with SSSC requirements, such as:

  • NC in Childhood Practice at SCQF level 6, or
  • SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF level 6, or
  • Equivalent qualification.

Essential experience and skills: Experience working with children and young people, ability to communicate effectively with children and adults, a caring nature, responsiveness, and awareness of young children's needs.

If not already registered with SSSC, registration will be required within the designated timeline.

Additional information: This is a temporary position, subject to business needs and funding, for 12 months or until the post's requirement ceases, whichever is earlier.
