Contribute as part of a team to provide a quality early learning and childcare service for children aged 0-8 years and their families. Work in accordance with the principles of the national care standards for early education and childcare and abide by the Code of Practice for Social Service Workers.

Requirements

The duties involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants will need to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member or have an existing record update before a formal offer of employment is made by East Ayrshire Council.

PVG records are continuously updated. Any relevant information disclosed will be discussed with the applicant prior to employment.

The Individual

This is a temporary, part-time, term-time position based at Cherry Trees Early Childhood Centre, Barony Campus, Cumnock.

The position is temporary until 24 December 2025.

The hours are 17.5 per week, scheduled as per the line manager’s instructions.

The full-time salary ranges from £31,377 to £33,579 per annum; the part-time, term-time salary ranges from £13,455 to £14,400 per annum.
