Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Social Worker to join the Trafford Early Intervention in Psychosis Team based at Crossgate House in Sale. We work with individuals aged 14-35 experiencing a first episode psychosis.

We are a welcoming, dedicated, and experienced team. We offer various psychological therapies and psychosocial interventions, along with comprehensive training across the directorate. We work closely with service users and families, providing behavioral therapy and family interventions, valuing service user involvement and participation in service development.

Main duties of the job

We seek a highly motivated individual with a passion for delivering evidence-based recovery interventions to those experiencing a first episode psychosis. The post holder will aim to reduce the impact of psychosis and promote active involvement in life, focusing on living an ordinary life and personal recovery.

Shift details: Saturday (midnight to midnight), any weekday after 8 pm and before 6 am, all Sundays and public holidays (midnight to midnight).

Annual leave: 27 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 29 after 5 years and 33 after 10 years.

  • Understanding of the Care Programme Approach and Mental Health Act 1983, including rights of carers
  • Knowledge of risk management and adult safeguarding procedures
  • Experience caring for adults with organic and functional mental illnesses
  • Ability to conduct first-line assessments using a biopsychosocial framework
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and individuals with psychosis
  • Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act
