We have an exciting opportunity for a Early Days in Custody Nurse to join our Early Days in Custody team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, a category B Prison located in London.

In this role you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality.

Hours

The site currently offers a 24-hour service

Days: 07:30 - 19:45

Predominately working days, night shifts will be required to cover sickness and annual leave.
An expectation to work a maximum of 2 weekends per month is also required.

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £55,086 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As an Early Days in Custody Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Assess patients and carry out relevant clinical investigations on arrival.
  • Arrange follow-up appointments for them whilst offering advice and giving information.
  • Clinically evaluate and ensure the safe transfer of patients to acute hospitals if needed, as well as ensuring that plans of care are understood by the patient and the prison as appropriate.
  • Support in undertaking audits and governance.
