The Talent Executive will report to the Head of Talent and primarily assist with all aspects of candidate attraction, recruitment, and assessment for Flex Trainee, our SQE scheme, and Co Sec Trainee, our 2-year programme for aspiring Company Secretaries and Governance Officers. In time, the Talent Executive may also assist with Talent responsibilities related to Flex HQ and Learning & Development.

Experience:

Experience in one of the following areas is desirable:

  • Legal recruitment
  • Company Secretary/Governance
  • Early Careers
  • Social Mobility or Diversity and Inclusion

The role will be responsible for:

Recruitment

  • Assist with all stages of candidate hiring for Flex Trainee schemes, including reviewing applications, assessing candidates, making progression decisions, conducting interviews, Assessment Centres, and offers. This role covers both our legal trainee SQE programme and our Company Secretary governance trainee programme.
  • Review and respond to applications promptly to create a positive first impression of Flex.
  • Research social mobility initiatives to inform future partnerships.
  • Ensure recruitment management platforms, such as Recruitee, have accurate records.
  • Assist with identifying and recruiting candidates for atypical trainee roles or On Demand roles requiring specific skills/experience.

Candidate Assessment

  • Develop and maintain interview materials.
  • Conduct interviews via Zoom and in person.
  • Assist with planning, executing, and reviewing trainee Assessment Centres.
  • Help review and update candidate screening tools.
  • Assist in implementing hiring strategies for On Demand and Flex Trainee candidates, including setting, tracking, and reporting on targets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve candidate quality and adapt sourcing approaches.
  • Participate in law fairs and recruitment events with the Marketing team.
  • Develop and maintain candidate recruitment materials and presentations.

Operations

  • Maximize opportunities with the portal.
  • Ensure candidates are onboarded effectively, with profiles fully completed on the Portal for efficient searching and matching.
  • Respond promptly to candidate communications via Salesforce.
  • Resolve issues in the application, screening, and onboarding processes proactively to maintain good relationships.

Trainee Placement

  • Work closely with the Head of Talent to match Flex Trainees with clients.
  • Assist with client calls or visits to create accurate trainee job descriptions.
  • Support the Head of Talent with client proposals for Flex Trainees.

Learning & Development

  • Assist with all aspects of the Flex Trainee ‘Readiness Program’; oversee engagement with facilitators, presenters, and buddies.
  • Research and implement ongoing Learning & Development training plans for Flex Trainees.
  • Lead pre-placement training initiatives for Flexers.
  • Measure the success of readiness and training programs, demonstrating ROI.
  • Contribute to L&D strategy.
