Scottish Water seeks an organized and friendly individual for a fixed-term role in their Resourcing and Talent Planning team. This position involves recruiting early career candidates while supporting inclusive hiring practices. You will play a critical role in managing logistics for recruitment campaigns and ensuring a smooth experience for all applicants, embodied by Scottish Water's commitment to fairness and inclusivity.

We’re always excited to welcome the new Interns, Apprentices, and Graduates who join Scottish Water each summer. They’re the people who’ll keep Scotland’s water flowing in the years to come – so we put real care into giving them the best possible start to their careers.
Hiring our trainees is a year-round effort: planning starts in the summer, attraction campaigns go live in the autumn, assessment and selection run through the winter, then in spring we’re planning their onboarding and induction. When summer rolls around, we roll out the red carpet for our new hires… and then we get do it all again!
With our current campaign specialist heading off on maternity leave later this summer, we’re looking for a friendly and organised person to join us on a fixed-term contract and help us coordinate our 2026 campaigns.
What You’ll Do
You’ll help us recruit the Modern Apprentices, Graduate Apprentices, Interns, and Graduates who’ll join in summer 2026 – and help us pilot a new PhD entry programme, too.

What You’ll Need
Experience running early careers campaigns—or similar high-volume, cyclical hiring—will be essential, along with a clear understanding of what first-time jobseekers need from a recruitment process. You’ll bring fresh ideas to make that journey smoother, more engaging, and maybe even more fun.
Proactivity, clarity, and the ability to confidently guide multiple stakeholders toward a deadline will help you keep everything moving.
A love for structure, planning, and data is a part of your natural working style.
Inclusive hiring matters to you, and you can demonstrate how you’ve supported under-represented candidates to feel welcomed and set up for success.
Experience using Workday’s Recruiting module would be a bonus. As would accreditation in administering psychometrics – we use Talogy as our assessment platform.

This is a full-time role (35 hours per week). But you’ll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take time off to volunteer in your community.

The not-so-small print
This role will be a Grade 6. If you’re new to Scottish Water, you’ll join us on a starting salary of £33,560. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £44140.
You’ll be officially based the Scottish Water’s central belt hub that’s closest to your home – either Stepps, Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, or Dundee. The Resourcing and Talent Planning team come together as a team in the Stepps office every Tuesday. Outside of that, they work remotely or from a Scottish Water site.
Job offers at Scottish Water are conditional, and will be confirmed on completion of our pre-employment screening, e.g. referencing, criminal record checks, license checks, etc. Screening is conducted on our behalf by a third party, and must be completed before your start date. Don’t worry - we’ll only start these checks once you’ve accepted an offer.

A few final things worth knowing…
