Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all trainees through their training contract, working with the Training Principal on seat allocation, reviews, qualifications, and career support.
  • Managing the qualification pathway via the Paralegal Academy and overseeing participants.
  • Collaborating with the business and HR to develop an apprentice and early careers strategy based on feedback and data.
  • Ensuring trainees are updated with firm news and managing pathways to admission.
  • Reporting graduate recruitment statistics to the Management Board.
  • Monitoring competitors and improving recruitment approaches.
  • Organising trainee induction and qualification courses with the Learning and Development team.
  • Liaising with HR and Employee Relations on issues.
  • Developing trainee training programs with practice groups and Knowledge Management lawyers.
  • Keeping up to date with SRA regulations and ensuring compliance, managing the relationship with the training provider for SQE.
  • Managing a team of 4 members directly and one indirectly.
  • Performing other related tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven managerial experience in Early Careers development, preferably in legal or professional services.
  • Understanding of SQE and SRA regulations is beneficial.
  • Excellent client service, communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and respond to multiple requests.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Experience working collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
