  • Starting date: September 2025
  • Salary: MPS1
  • Temporary Contract, ongoing position
  • Full Time Vacancy (8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday)

Early Career Teacher Specification
We are currently seeking an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to work in a one-form entry, OFSTED 'Good' school in the Saltley area on a full-time and long-term basis. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic ECT to work within a Year 5 class and they are well-regarded for their nurturing leadership, strong ties with the local community, and consistently setting high standards of behaviour. The successful Early Career Teacher will be supported by a comprehensive induction programme, led by experienced school-based mentors and enriched with high-quality, ongoing professional development.

Our client is also open to a temp-to-perm arrangement starting in September 2026, following a successful initial year and full support through the ECT induction period.

Working as an ECT in our client's school, you will be expected but not limited to:

  • Plan, mark and assess differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum,
  • Work collaboratively with staff
  • Parents and all those in the school community
  • Attend staff meetings including CPD
  • Have high expectations of behaviour and motivate pupils through high-quality teaching and management.

Requirements:

  • You must be a qualified Primary Teacher with QTS
  • A passion for working with young children
  • Have a nurturing approach and the ability to support young children effectively
  • Hold a Level 1 Safeguarding qualification
  • Be dedicated to the progress and well-being of young learners
  • Have an active enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to obtain)
