Bedford Road Primary is a community school based in the heart of Kempston, Bedfordshire.

Role of the Primary Class Teacher

1. Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class, ensuring equality of opportunity for all.
2. Be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest standards in work and conduct.
3. Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and observe proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s professional role.
4. Work proactively and effectively in collaboration with learners, parents/carers, governors, other staff, and external agencies for the best interests of pupils.
5. Act within statutory frameworks and in line with the current Teacher Standards (2012).
6. Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
