Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking a HLTA to deliver EAL and intervention support in a thriving primary school in London. The role covers KS1-2, focusing on pupils aged 4-11, with responsibilities including literacy and numeracy interventions and tracking progress.

You will work with teachers, SEND/EAL staff, and parents, provide targeted support, occasionally cover lessons, and contribute to safeguarding and pupil achievement.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting EAL learners.
• Experience in a primary school setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted EAL support and intervention programmes.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups across KS1 and KS2.
• Support pupils in developing confidence in spoken and written English.
• Deliver literacy and numeracy intervention sessions.
• Monitor and track pupil progress.
• Liaise with teachers and SEND/EAL staff to support learning outcomes.
• Occasionally cover lessons where required.
• Help remove barriers to learning and promote pupil achievement.
