EAL HLTA required for a mainstream secondary school based in Haringey.

Position details:

About the role: EAL Teaching Assistant

Qualiteach is looking for an EAL HLTA in the London borough of Haringey. The ideal candidate will be proactive and adaptable, supporting children facing difficulties with the English language. Experience with EAL is mandatory. Ideally, candidates will have a strong academic or linguistic background to cover a temporary role until Easter, with the possibility of becoming permanent afterward. Responsibilities include assessing English proficiency, leading EAL lessons, supporting and planning work tailored to individual needs, leading EAL clubs, supporting students' integration, and providing guidance to mainstream teachers. IT proficiency is also required.

This role has historically been filled by individuals with a linguistic degree (e.g., English philology or similar), with or without QTS.
