Job description

Property Accountant - London

Seeking a Property Accountant for an 8-month contract within a Real Estate business based in Central London. Looking for a candidate with a strong background in service charge accounting experience across large commercial businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the maintenance of complex service charge calculations, including net internal area and density calculations.
  • Preparation of service charge budgets and calculation of service charges for tenants.
  • Reviewing service charge expenditure and investigating variances against budget, handling forecasting adjustments if required and presenting data at budget meetings with budget holders.
  • Communicating effectively with all relevant parties to ensure timely delivery of monthly reports.
  • Assist with system development and process automation of service charges.
  • Review Tenant and Landlord Recovery account and reconcile monthly.
  • Quarterly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and assisting the Financial Controller in presenting financial results to Group Finance on a quarterly basis.

Requirements:

  • 5 years in a service charge accounting background.
  • Part-Qualified accountant or studying (ACA, ACCA or ACMA) is preferred.
  • Possess good communication skills.
