The appointment includes annualized/blocks of GIM, with ward inpatient work and weekly outpatient clinics, possibly progressing to a rapid access clinic. New appointments will typically work 2 x 7-week blocks on the wards, with flexible arrangements depending on commitments.
The general medical emergency on-call rota frequency will be reduced to 1:11 weekdays. The on-call Consultant must be available between 2200-0800 for advice and emergency calls. Ward rounds are conducted by Acute Physicians, with weekend rounds as per the job plan.
