Givens Home First is hiring a PRN Aging in Place Technician to join our team. As an Aging in Place Technician, you will collaborate with the Program Director to assess community members and their homes, making recommendations to enable and empower them to live independently, comfortably, and safely. Driven by evidence-based research, you will implement modifications in accordance with policies, procedures, and best practices, striving to meet and exceed Givens Home First standards. This position starts as needed, with potential to grow into part-time or full-time roles.

What you'll do:

  • Assess individuals' abilities, challenges, and needs holistically, recommending updates to support independent living
  • Coordinate with relevant departments and vendors for home modifications based on safety and functional needs
  • Identify, recommend, purchase, and oversee installation of furnishings and equipment to enhance aging in place
  • Educate community members on the proper use of medical equipment
  • Follow best practices during home assessments
  • Manage stockroom and inventory
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

What you'll need:

  • Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) certification is highly desirable but not required
  • Basic inventory control and computer skills
  • Experience as a handy worker or skilled laborer supporting equipment installation and home modifications
  • Knowledge of aging processes and proper use of DME
  • Good public relations and office skills
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License and insured vehicle (eligible for mileage reimbursement)
  • Understanding of aging processes and Durable Medical Equipment functions

Compensation ranges from $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience.
