Solution Architect - Boots Operating Systems

About the role

We are looking for talented and dedicated individuals to join the IT Delivery team as a Solution Architect, developing creative solutions across multiple capabilities of the business. We are seeking individuals who the can undertake a broader range of activities to capitalise the opportunities that will be available to them as we progress through our digital transformation programme.

The Solution Architect works with colleagues from the Business, IT and a wider group of Partners and Service Providers. As a Solution Architect you will define, develop and articulate solutions for projects to progress the Boots target architectures and roadmap. You will report into the Portfolio Architect for Boots Operating Systems.

You will:

• Provide a link between the Solution Delivery team, IT partners and the wider business to develop quality architecture deliverables and ensures the delivery of fit for purpose.
• Help develop roadmaps for the business and technology.
• Develop an understanding of the Boots IT strategy, technology frameworks within IT and overall Enterprise Architecture direction.
• Ensure design governance is met within your area of responsibility
• Adhere to the Boots Enterprise Architecture method, Patterns and tools
• Deliver high-quality solution design
• Oversee and review the Outline Designs, High-level Designs and Detailed Designs produced by other resources, partners and third parties.
• Ensure alignment of all solutions to relevant roadmaps and strategy
• Ensure all designs are produced on target for time, cost and quality

What you'll need to have

We are seeking a dynamic and driven person, who has a experience with delivery of solutions for large IT projects, across a range of technologies, with the passion and energy to build their experience at Boots.

• Expertise in crafting Architecture Assets
• A broad and balanced understanding of IT capabilities, methods and technologies
• In-depth experience of design and development of IT Solutions
• An understanding of Security such as PCI & GDPR and customer-facing technologies.
• Experience of influencing senior stakeholders of the solutions for proposed initiatives
• Understanding of a retail organisation

It would be great if you also have

• Experience working in a team comprised of onshore and offshore resources
• Knowledge of Point of Sale, OMS, PIM, Cloud Hosting (MS AZURE) and Micro Services
