Job description

Climate17 is working alongside a well-established UK-based asset management firm that specializes in the entire project lifecycle, from origination to operations of renewable energy and power generation assets.

They are seeking an O&M Manager to ensure contractual and statutory compliance for a portfolio of Solar PV and BESS O&M contracts. The O&M Manager will aim to maximize asset production, improve efficiency, and maintain high safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide O&M services to meet contractual requirements, including reactive callouts, team recruitment, training, and competency management.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure staff have the necessary tools and equipment.
• Monitor maintenance performance metrics and implement improvements.
• Develop maintenance plans and schedules.
• Manage work control, report on completed tasks, and ensure safety compliance.
• Draft and review RAMS, permits, and maintenance procedures.
• Oversee daily operations of engineers, ensuring safety adherence.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and oversee equipment warranties.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders such as DNOs and asset owners.
• Respond to emergencies, outages, and operational changes.
• Act as the primary contact for the company’s O&M service, providing updates and contractual reports within the region.
• Handle P&L responsibilities for managed services and contracts.
• Ensure accurate client invoicing and supplier payments.
• Assist in onboarding new sites into maintenance systems.
• Utilize and maintain a Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Requirements

• Qualification in electrical or electro-mechanical disciplines.
• ECS Gold Card – essential.
• Previous electrical or multi-skilled maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in IT tools such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and troubleshooting software.
• Valid safety qualification for site work.
• HV authorised person – AP15/OP40.
• Knowledge of HV/LV power electronics (inverters, converters, transformers).
• Experience with BESS is preferred.
• HVAC training and F-Gas qualification are advantageous.
• Understanding of IT networking, CMD, remote desktop, MODBUS/TCP protocols is preferred.
• C&G2391-5 Test & Inspect or equivalent qualification is preferred.
