Bennett & Game are seeking a skilled Furniture Maker for a longstanding client based in Bedford.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cabinet making and woodwork manufacturing, with experience in furniture making beyond just fitting.

Furniture Maker Job Overview

1. Apply joinery techniques to assemble furniture from technical drawings.
2. Use traditional woodworking machinery such as planer thicknesser, spindle moulder, wide belt sander, and veneer press.
3. Produce high-quality furniture in line with company standards.
4. Set out and accurately size sheet materials and timber from cutting lists.
5. Work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a furniture maker.
• Experience in a workshop environment.
• Laminating, veneering, and edge banding experience is preferred but not required.
• Good knowledge of workshop machinery and safety practices.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Experience with materials such as MDF, veneers, solid wood, and MFC.
• Reside within a commutable distance of Bedford.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: £32,500 to £40,000, depending on experience.
• Working hours: 7am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
• 22 days holiday plus bank holidays.
