As a Project Manager in our Aviation Services Group, you will:
- Work directly with Airport Managers and Directors and their staff on airport improvement projects across the East Coast.
- Handle projects ranging from aviation transportation improvements, airspace modeling, to environmental and community enhancements.
- Collaborate with a team of airport planners, environmental scientists, and construction experts providing support and innovative solutions.
- Travel to airports for project collaboration, with the flexibility to work from any of our six offices or remotely.
- Be committed and passionate about your career, actively participate in professional organizations, and grow as a leader in the aviation industry.
- Manage resources to complete projects within contract scope, budget, and schedule.
- Train and mentor project engineers and junior staff.
- Adhere to quality control procedures and utilize project management tools and training.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Achieving excellent financial performance for Hoyle Tanner.
- Providing superior client service and understanding client needs.
- Leading and assembling project teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Fostering team satisfaction and collaboration with subconsultants.
- Resolving personnel conflicts and pursuing new project opportunities.
- Monitoring project resources and financials, and managing billing and receivables.
- Ensuring product quality and developing quality management plans.
- Keeping leadership informed of potential risks and claims.
- Potentially supervising a group of staff, supporting their career development and work assignments.
The ideal candidate will have experience in plan production, specification writing, engineering analysis, client collaboration, project financial management, and a progression into project management roles. Strong communication skills and the ability to listen and collaborate effectively are essential.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in MA, NH, ME, FL, RI, or CT, or the ability to obtain reciprocity
- 10+ years of increasing technical or leadership experience, including 4-6 years in other Civil Engineering disciplines and 4-6 years in airport design
- Strong communication, financial, scheduling, and client management skills
- Project Management (PM) training
Preferred qualifications include:
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Management, or equivalent
- Additional PE licenses or NCEES record
- Contributions to industry presentations, periodicals, or certifications in construction or project management
