Job Description

Become a part of an expanding UK team of Project, Programme, Construction, and Commercial Managers, with a focus on career growth, professional development, and advancement. We are looking for people with experience within the energy sector which might comprise experience of Regulated Networks, Non-Regulated Networks, and/or Renewables.

About the Role:

YOUR TEAM

You will be part of our wider Project Management and Commercial Management Team (PMCM), made up of over 400 professionals across the UK and sit within our Civil Infrastructure and Utilities Group. Your future development will be actively supported with access to WSP's full range of training, development tools, and resources and be part of transforming UK infrastructure.

You will integrate into our team's flexible working culture, offering a balance of home and office working, where safety and wellbeing are paramount.

A typical Day would include:
  1. Ensuring compliance with quality management systems, and driving efficiencies throughout project execution;
  2. Providing guidance and support to project teams in a multi-disciplinary environment;
  3. Organising and chairing professional client meetings;
  4. Working with limited supervision to plan, administer, monitor, and control projects with values from £1m to £15m;
  5. Effectively controlling, administering, and managing project change;
  6. Monitoring and delivering projects within agreed budget, schedule, and scope;
  7. Undertaking contract management and administration under a range of framework and/or standalone contracts;
  8. Undertaking line manager responsibilities for Assistant or Graduate/Undergraduate PMs.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  1. Attained or are working toward a professional qualification in project management, quantity surveying, and/or an engineering discipline; for example, Association of Project Management (APM), Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), PRINCE2;
  2. A degree in a Science, Technology, or Engineering discipline (or similar);
  3. Understanding of the energy sector and regulatory issues affecting the industry, including long-term internal and external influences;
  4. Experience of working in a regulated environment within energy and/or other sectors such as Telecoms, Water, etc.;
  5. Working knowledge or accreditation in NEC and the necessary technical and practical skills to administer NEC Contracts;
  6. Membership of professional institutions such as: Association for Project Management (APM), Project Management Institute (PMI), or Member of Institute of Civil Engineers (MICE), etc.;
  7. Proficiency in the use of project management tools and software;
  8. Demonstrated competence in stakeholder management, risk, planning/scheduling, and commercial management.
