The Opportunity:
The School of Engineering seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Electrical Machines and Drives. The successful candidate will undertake teaching duties in Electronics and Electrical Engineering. They will also carry out research in the area of electrical power conversion technologies for clean energy. Specific research areas of interest include condition monitoring of electrical machines and drives, the power electronic control of electrical machines, and the design of electrical machines in renewable energy or sustainable transportation applications. The successful candidate will join the Institute for Energy Systems (IES) in the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh.
The role is UE08 and is available on a full-time, open-ended contract.
The successful candidate appointed will conduct research in the area of electrical machines and drives for clean energy or sustainable transportation applications, in the Research Institute for Energy Systems (IES), and participate in teaching and administration in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, contributing to the intellectual wealth and collegiate environment of the School of Engineering.
