Job description

GLL is currently recruiting a Full-Time Senior Lifeguard to join our team at Abbey Leisure Complex in Cambridge. As a senior lifeguard, you’ll oversee a team of lifeguards, acting as a mentor and role model, and be responsible for staff training. Senior Lifeguards have a key role in ensuring the safety of our customers and maintaining the cleanliness of the pool environment.

This vital lifeguarding role requires you to be calm under pressure, highly responsible, and personable with people from all walks of life. If you're looking to develop your career with the UK’s leading leisure provider, this is an excellent opportunity.

What you need:

• A strong focus on customer service
• Passion and personality
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Great team player
• Ideally, hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). If not, training can be provided after passing a swim test.

What you’ll do:

• Supervise the lifeguard team
• Participate in regular pool rotations
• Supervise and clean the pool area
• Set up equipment
• Handle customer queries
• Support daily operations by preparing studios, gyms, or sports halls, and maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the centre
