Job description

Maths Teacher in SEMH School - Crewe, Crewe

Hays Education is excited to offer a unique and rewarding opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Maths Teacher at a small, specialised school in Crewe. This school caters to Looked After Children (LAC) with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced trauma.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering Maths lessons up to GCSE level to a small class of 6–7 boys. The students are at various levels of Maths proficiency, so you will need to tailor your teaching to meet their individual needs. Additionally, you will support the boys with other subjects, such as English, as needed. Beyond academic instruction, you will play a crucial role in supporting the students' overall learning and development in a homely and supportive school environment.

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a candidate with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification, with a specialisation in Maths. Experience teaching Maths up to GCSE level is essential. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to support learning in other subjects and an understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed practices. Passion, patience, and adaptability are key qualities for success in this role.
