Job description

Repack Night Shift Manager – Yearsley Food

Monday to Thursday: 4:00pm - 2:00am

Part of Lineage are Yearsley Food Group – who work directly with Frozen Food Customers to keep Wholesalers, Restaurants, Takeaways, Retailers, Schools, Hospitals, Prisons, Pub Chains etc. stocked and supplied with a wide variety of Frozen Food.

We are currently looking to hire a Production Manager for our repack facility at Heywood. You will be responsible for managing our night shift, ensuring our products are packed safely, cost-effectively and on time. With a combined turnover of £6.5million pounds the facility is diverse, fast growing and target led.

As shift manager, you'll oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations. You will need to:

  • Follow the packing schedule and plan accordingly

  • Ensure KPI’s are met, on budget and that quality standards and targets are met

  • Work with the Technical and QA team to ensure the quality and safety standards are being met

  • Supervise and motivate your team of supervisors and packers to pack effectively

  • Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times

  • Oversee a weekly packaging stock take for just in time ordering

  • Work with the Department Manager to implement the company's policies and goals

  • Oversee label design and printing

What we are looking for:

  • Planning and organisation skills to be able run and monitor the production process

  • An ability to act decisively to solve staff or equipment-related problems

  • ICT literacy to deal with various technologies and programmes including full Microsoft office programs like Excel and Word

  • Attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality

  • The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with your team

  • Leadership skills and the ability to motivate others to meet deadlines

  • A results-driven approach to work
