The Neighbourhood Officer/Assistant Role

We have various exciting opportunities for Neighbourhood Officers/Assistant to join us!

This is an exciting opportunity working as part of the Neighbourhood Teams where you'll be supported as part of your personal growth and development to gain an in-depth knowledge and experience in Neighbourhood Housing Management.

An integral part of the team, you'll provide additional support in delivering a proactive reassuring practical and visible customer focused estate management service and make a real difference in the communities that we manage. This involves key front-line elements of Housing Management, Environmental Management, Community and Tenancy Support, Community Safety, Compliance and Cohesion.

Key Duties And Responsibilities Of Our Neighbourhood Assistants/Officers

  • Delivering a highly visible, effective & proactive tenancy & neighbourhood management service.
  • Delivering with or escalate all breaches of tenancy regulations in a timely manner and in line with thresholds and procedures, including Anti-Social Behaviour within relevant timescales using support or enforcement interventions and services as required.
  • Responsible for the day to day patch based void management of properties and work with partners and teams to ensure properties are let as soon as possible to achieve key performance targets.
  • Providing a welcome visit to new tenants within agreed timescales to communicate the required obligations, offering practical support and advice and signpost where needed.
  • Identify customer vulnerability including safeguarding concerns by the completion of support checklists, risk assessments and appropriate interventions, at sign up or as soon as potential issues become apparent.
  • Working with the Lettings Service regarding the assessment of applications to the Housing Waiting List and effective operation of the Lettings Policy, to ensure the best use of housing stock and sustainability of local communities.

What We're Looking For In Our Neighbourhood Assistants/Officers

  • NVQ Level 3 / BTEC National Certificate or equivalent or relevant experience / transferable skills.
  • Demonstrate a positive, flexible approach to team working, be self-motivated and responsive to change
  • Experience of social housing, including estate management and tenancy Management or Community Safety related work.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to look for solutions and opportunities in a changing environment
  • The ability to prepare and present information concisely and clearly and adapt communication for a range of audiences, including the ability to influence, negotiate and persuade.
