One of the fastest-growing software-led companies in the US is building out a new engineering hub in Belfast and is looking to hire a Principal TypeScript Engineer as one of their foundational local hires. The company operates in a high-impact, real-world domain and is scaling fast off the back of major investment and a successful product-market fit.

This is a chance to shape technical direction, influence architecture across multiple products, and grow with a company building modern, high-scale systems. You'll collaborate with teams across the US and Europe, and play a key leadership role within a brand-new Belfast engineering group.

What you'll be doing:

Leading the development of scalable applications using modern TypeScript across both backend (Node.js) and frontend (React)

Influencing architectural decisions across multiple product streams

Working closely with product, design and data teams to deliver high-quality features

Mentoring engineers and championing technical best practices

Supporting the growth and culture of the Belfast office

Tech environment:

TypeScript (Node.js backend / React frontend)

GraphQL, REST APIs

CI/CD tooling and infrastructure as code (Terraform)

What we're looking for:

Deep experience building production-grade applications in TypeScript

Strong architectural knowledge and systems design experience

A proven track record of technical leadership and mentoring

Experience working in cross-functional product teams

Comfortable working in fast-paced, scale-up environments

The package:

Salary up to £110,000 depending on experience

Hybrid working from a modern central Belfast office
