Gas & Power Business Analyst - Energy Trading | Power SME | 6 Months Rolling | Outside IR35 | Hybrid | £800/day

Gas & Power Business Analyst is needed for an exciting long-term contract opportunity within the Energy Trading sector.

This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of Energy trading, especially as a Gas & Power SME, with knowledge of market dynamics and how external factors influence the Gas & Power markets. Familiarity with data from exchanges such as EPEX SPOT, EEX Futures, or Nord Pool is essential.

Experience working with ETRM systems is highly advantageous, particularly in product onboarding, setting up exchange-based products, trade capture, end-of-day calculations, and modeling products within an ETRM system.

• This hire will focus on developing new functionalities related to trade volumes for trade PPA, collaborating with offshore delivery teams.
• Must understand data inputs from exchanges and trade capture processes.
• Experience with setting up exchange-based products, understanding product specifications for financial links, and modeling in ETRM is highly valued.
• Knowledge of marked market calculations, end-of-day outputs, and energy product control is important.

The successful candidate will join the organization to lead their global digital transformation, focusing on Gas & Power systems. With the markets currently in flux, your expertise will position you as a key stakeholder for ongoing projects, especially as a new Power ETRM system is being implemented to replace the current one.

You will help guide the client through market shifts, operational challenges during IT upgrades, and financial decisions to ensure project profitability, compliance, and strategic growth.

Strong communication skills with offshore stakeholders and good documentation abilities are essential for working effectively with offshore delivery teams.

Contract Details:

• 6 months rolling contract
• £800/Day Outside IR35
• Hybrid working (2-3 days in London)

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the Physicals or Derivatives Energy Trading domain
• Strong background in Energy Trading, with familiarity with trading platforms for Gas & Power
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with ETRM systems, including product onboarding, curve setup, complex pricing, trade capture, valuations, and PNL
• Ability to identify process improvements and build sustainable documentation
• Experience working with front office and risk teams to understand requirements
