Location: Central London (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £65,000 + Commission

Sector: Medical Devices / Healthcare / Life Sciences

Are you an experienced Research Manager ready to take the next step in your career?

We’re seeking a Market Research Team Leader to head up a small but growing insights function in a leading life sciences and healthcare media business. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who’s ready to manage a team while staying deeply involved in project delivery, client relationships, and shaping future research offerings.

About the Role:

This position sits at the heart of the business’s commercial insight strategy, focused heavily on quantitative research, including market trackers, market share reports, and procedural volume analysis delivered on a quarterly basis. In addition, the team delivers bespoke studies including attitudinal surveys and phone-based qualitative research, along with managing qual recruitment as a revenue stream.

As Insights Lead, you’ll play a key role in meeting current demand while also developing new research products to drive business growth. You'll work closely with publishing, events, and commercial teams to deliver insights that inform strategic decisions across the medical device sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a small, capable research team, ensuring high standards and timely delivery.
  • Oversee and contribute to the design and execution of quantitative and qualitative projects.
  • Deliver quarterly market tracking projects and one-off custom studies.
  • Manage client relationships from proposal through to insight delivery.
  • Design and script surveys (using platforms like Qualtrics), analyse data, and produce compelling reports.
  • Identify new commercial opportunities, shape innovative research offerings, and contribute to proposals and pitches.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, marketing, and sales teams to align insights with wider business goals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years’ experience in market research (agency or client-side), with a strong foundation in quantitative methodologies; qualitative experience a strong plus.
  • Prior exposure to market sizing, share tracking, or longitudinal data preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare, life sciences or medical devices a bonus or a fast learner with an interest in the sector.
  • Experience leading projects and ideally managing or mentoring a team.
  • Strong analytical and data visualisation skills, Excel and PowerPoint expertise essential; knowledge of SPSS, Power BI or similar tools advantageous.
  • Proactive, commercially aware, and confident communicating insights to stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, able to bring new ideas, spot gaps, and help build out a growing department.

What’s On Offer:

  • Up to £65k base salary + performance-based commission
  • Hybrid working environment (SW London based)
  • Chance to lead a strategic function in a well-established and respected business
  • Clear opportunity to progress as the department expands
