Job description

We’re looking for a Payroll Analyst to join us in Bradford on a permanent full-time basis.

Joining our fast-paced Payroll team, reporting into the Payroll Team Leader you will be responsible for the day-to-day payroll administration, managing and responding promptly to payroll queries and the processing of all payroll credit transfers for employees. Creating a purpose of making Liberty Blume a great place to work, delivering a great experience in a way that improves their efficiency day to day.

What will you be doing?

  • Resolving complex pay query enquiries, issues, complaints escalating where appropriate.
  • Support the processing of all payroll credit transfers and emergency CHAPS payments.
  • Make sure statutory deductions are correctly made and accounted for and that all statutory returns, including those for taxable benefits relating to the employees are produced and dispatched in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that non-statutory deductions made on behalf of the employees are accounted for and returns, including payment, are made to the appropriate organisations.
  • Stay on top of company and statutory changes, working with Information Technology & the ES Systems & Portfolio Development team, ensure vital system changes are implemented at the required time.
  • Ensure that any advice and services given to managers, employees and external organisations are of a high quality and delivered in a customer focused way.

We tend to look for people with:

Essential:

  • Solid understanding of payroll processes, particularly those relating to the BACS process and company pension schemes.
  • Practical knowledge of statutory legislation applicable to Income Tax (PAYE), National Insurance, SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP, salary sacrifice, benefits in kind and attachment of earning orders.
  • In depth knowledge of payroll processing including, month end and year end activities.
  • Able to fully utilise Microsoft Office products, including MS Excel to an intermediate level and the application of Oracle and workflow/case management.
  • A high degree of interpersonal skills, in an environment where conflicting priorities can result in delays and failures, to ensure that no deadlines are missed.
  • Experience managing complex, high volume pay processes in an efficiency and effective manner.

Desirable:

  • A good understanding of external Payroll/Shared Service developments.
  • Experience of providing detailed, timely pay and management information advice.
  • Good working knowledge of process methodologies.
