Abbott Vascular UK are recruiting for a Clinical Specialist to join our Coronary team! This could be an ideal opportunity for recent graduates in Biomedical Sciences or similar who are looking to start their careers within the medical devices industry.

The Clinical Specialist will provide operational support during procedures as well as training to support strategic, operational and quality objectives within the assigned territory (South Wales/West Midlands/East Anglia/East Midlands).

Key responsibilities:
  • Play a role in supporting and driving employee and customer clinical training and sign-off. Participate in creating bespoke training programs based on customer needs and requirements.
  • Maintain up to date technical knowledge of current and new Abbott therapies and technologies as well as a general understanding of the dynamics of the country healthcare market. Also maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical studies to consistently support Abbott product advantages.
  • Support Physicians during clinical procedures. Provides primary technical support to physician and nurses during procedures. Escalate with more senior colleagues as and when required.
  • Support product implementation plans and customer education.
  • Conduct product presentations and respond to technical questions that might be raised.
Requirements:
  • A BSc degree in a relevant discipline such as Biomedical Science.
  • Some experience in a Cath lab clinical role or similar would be ideal but not required.
  • Strong Cardiac Anatomy & Physiology knowledge.
  • Familiarity with cath lab and operating room procedures and protocol ideal
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A highly motivated individual, with strong IT skills and a willingness to travel extensively (driving licence required).
