MSS Group, part of the RSK Group, has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and driven individual to join their team as a Project Manager. The role will be based at Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, UK, and our head office in Cardiff, UK.

Please note: this role requires successful candidates to undergo security clearance checks.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage labour, plant, transport, and equipment on site, ensuring all operations are safe, legal, and in accordance with the project plan.
  2. Direct teams, monitor labour allocation, and ensure tasks are within skill levels, with appropriate tools and equipment.
  3. Ensure health and safety of all personnel and that site activities do not harm the environment.
  4. Manage relationships with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders; produce delivery programmes; liaise with planners to ensure compliance with NEC/Contract standards.
  5. Act in alignment with our values of Dedication, Adaptability, Efficiency, and Integrity.
  6. Promote cultural standards of behaviour focusing on Home Safe, Fairness and Respect, Sustainable Solutions, and Nurturing Success; monitor and review staff performance, including appraisals and disciplinary actions.
  7. Travel as required; carry out quality and safety inspections.
  8. Onboard, allocate, and manage Subcontractors and labour.
  9. Motivate teams.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Experience in the Construction Industry on long-term projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of NEC 3 & 4 Contract, including drafting notifications and programming support.
  • Set health and safety standards.
  • Experience leading a team of site workers.
  • Experience planning and organising workload.
  • Manage customer, supplier, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, CDM, and industry standards.
  • Awareness of employment legislation and best practices.
  • Problem-solving skills and solution development.
  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines under challenging conditions.
  • Team or task management aligned with project plans.
  • Willingness to undertake training and development.
  • Ability to produce complex project-specific RAMS.
  • Capability to interpret drawings and schedule materials for procurement.
Qualifications:

Mandatory

  • CSCS certification.
  • NVQ Level 6 or 7.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • First aid certification.
  • SMSTS qualification.
  • NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK).
  • Temporary Works Coordinator certification.
  • Knowledge of asbestos regulations.
