Job Title: Principal Data Analytics Software Developer

Location: Bristol

Compensation: Up to £72,000 (Dependent on Experience) + Benefits

The role

As a Principal Data Analytics Software Developer, you will have an out-of-the-ordinary role. This exciting opportunity is for a highly capable and driven data analyst with practical experience developing and operating innovative analytic solutions for demanding and complex business requirements.

Daily responsibilities include providing a unique service for planning and analyzing the UK submarine support programme. You will interface with senior customers to deliver data analysis and business conclusions through software models and expert business knowledge.

  • Establish and lead a high-performing team of data analysts responsible for designing, delivering, and operating analysis services for senior executives and business clients.
  • Define the vision and strategy for the analytics service, prioritizing customer and business requirements, and establishing development needs to improve and enhance the service.
  • Manage cross-team resources to deliver an integrated data analysis and software development program, adapting to customer demand changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement the team’s analytics processes, procedures, and quality standards.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week, based onsite at our Bristol location.

Essential experience
  • Developing and operating Python solutions for complex analytics problems.
  • Leading teams of data analysts or software developers in a fast-paced program.
  • Strong logic, problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Proven team collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in Defence and submarines.
Qualifications

Relevant degree in Maths, IT, Software, Data Science, Physics, Computing, or related fields.

Security Clearance
