About The Role And Team

The Parks and Environment Department is a busy team working for the residents of Mole Valley. Our key responsibilities are:

  • Operating the Dorking Cemetery
  • Managing the district's countryside and maintaining approximately one million trees
  • Maintaining Mole Valleys parks and playgrounds
  • Operating ten allotments
  • The Parks and Environment Manager is responsible for waste and recycling collections and street cleaning across the district.

The team is looking for an individual to provide support to our busy service. This role will run up to 30 September 2025, for 3 days a week, plus a comprehensive initial two-week training program.

Main Duties

  • Making courtesy calls to our garden waste customers to remind them to renew their yearly service
  • Assisting our administration officer in allocating enquiries through the team
  • Inputting current cemetery data onto Excel
  • Assisting with the day-to-day administration of the district's allotments
  • Performing other tasks as they arise

About You

We are looking for a motivated individual with a can-do attitude. Important skills include:

  • A confident and polite phone manner
  • Attention to detail
  • Accuracy in work produced
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently once fully trained

About Us

For you

Hybrid working with flexibility. We aim to reduce our carbon footprint and support our Climate Change Strategy. The successful applicant would work in the office during the first two weeks of training and then have the opportunity to work from home up to three days a week, subject to role suitability.
