Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable HSEQ Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards across our operations, and we envisage this person being site-based 3 to 4 days per week with 1 day based at the site office in Stratford. This position requires a proactive individual who is committed to fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain HSEQ policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
• Perform root cause analysis on incidents and near misses, providing actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Prepare detailed reports on HSEQ performance, including findings from audits and inspections, ensuring clear communication of results to management.
• Deliver training sessions on health, safety, environmental practices and quality assurance to staff at all levels.
• Work as part of a team to deal with HSEQ-related queries within the organisation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and quality throughout the organisation.

Experience

• At least 1 year UK-based experience in a similar HSEQ role within the construction, drainage or civils industries.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels.
• A thorough understanding of relevant health, safety, environmental legislation and best practices is required.
• Relevant qualifications in health and safety (such as NEBOSH or equivalent) would be advantageous but not mandatory.
