East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual for two part-time School Support Co-ordinator positions. The roles involve providing administrative and finance support in primary schools and require flexibility in work locations. Candidates should have experience in finance or administration, preferably within an educational setting, and a good standard of education.
2 x 17.5 Hour posts - 1 Temporary & 1 Permanent
Hours: 17.5 hours per week
Post 1 Week 1: 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Wednesday, one hour for lunch
Week 2: 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday & Tuesday, one hour for lunch
Post 2 Week 1: 8.30am - 4.30pm Thursday & Friday, one hour for lunch
Week 2: 8.30am - 4.30pm Wednesday to Friday, one hour for lunch
Location: Early Years and Primary schools of the Turnbull Cluster / Council Offices / Home

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated individual to join the School Support Co-ordinator Team within the Education Department. This position involves a mobile work style, including working from home, Council offices, and within the Early Years and Primary Schools of the Douglas cluster. Reporting to a School Support Manager, your main responsibilities will include the efficient delivery of administrative and finance support within the primary school clusters, advising and supporting Head Teachers and senior staff on complex financial and administrative matters.
Duties include monitoring school budgets, ensuring financial commitments are recorded within established procedures, recruitment and selection procedures, line management, and training of school office staff.
You will liaise with managers from other Council departments concerning financial administration.
Candidates should be educated to a good standard and have extensive experience in finance or administration, preferably within a school or education environment. An HND qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline is desirable. Travel between cluster schools and your base is required.
This is not a term-time post. The position is subject to a PVG check.

The following applies to all roles requiring PVG/Disclosure checks within East Dunbartonshire Council: Successful candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before employment is confirmed. The cost of the check will be deducted from the first salary and possibly in installments. If employment ends before deduction, the full amount will be deducted from the final salary. This applies to existing employees applying for roles with PVG/Disclosure requirements.
