Job description

The Firm:

A national accountancy firm with a base in Newcastle is looking to appoint a Corporate Tax Senior with experience advising on corporate tax matters to private businesses. Joining a team with a wealth of experience, you will enhance your position in the north east market as a “go-to specialist” Tax Advisor.

The Brief:

The opportunity requires a Corporate Tax Senior based in Newcastle to deliver a range of tax advisory services, managing client relationships with privately or family-owned businesses, private equity portfolio companies, and business owners on a broad range of complex matters, with Partner support.

The Role:

You will be responsible for providing corporate tax advice to privately owned businesses, wealthy individuals, families and their businesses, and private equity backed portfolio companies on managing their company tax affairs. This may include areas such as:

  1. Helping companies to optimise tax incentives
  2. Supporting domestic and overseas operations
  3. Providing corporate tax advice
  4. Developing effective working relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders
  5. Maintaining relevant tax knowledge, staying current with technical developments including changes in tax law and legislation

Experience Required:

We are looking for professional individuals with the following qualifications:

  • CTA or ACA Qualified (or an international equivalent)
  • Able to demonstrate relevant and current UK tax knowledge, including experience of tax issues facing privately or family-owned businesses, private equity portfolio companies, and business owners
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously to deadline
  • A confident communicator managing as the first point of contact with clients and liaising with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong report writing skills with the ability to explain complex matters in an understandable format
  • Competent technology user for managing client relationships, carrying out analysis, and producing deliverables
