We are seeking individuals with expertise in Heat Network (HN) and broader Distributed Energy (DE) projects or programs.

Distributed Energy refers to flexible, resilient, and low to zero carbon heat and power networks, including but not limited to heat networks, solar PV, heat pumps, energy storage, demand flexibility, and vehicle-to-grid charging for electric vehicles.

Ideal candidates will have experience in project development—covering scoping, business case, finance, and high-level technical aspects (preferably as a consultant, not an engineer)—for schemes involving heat networks, local energy networks, smart grids, battery storage, and integration with home EV charging or car batteries.

Outline of the Team

This role is part of our Sustainability Team, which focuses on measuring, managing, and reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions, along with broader environmental sustainability efforts.

We also provide consultancy services to housing associations, the public sector, and commercial clients, including:

• Delivery of city/regional carbon reduction programs
• Development of carbon management and net zero strategies
• Carbon footprinting and GHG reporting
• Energy savings assessments
• Implementation of management systems like ISO 50001

Job Description

We seek individuals demonstrating experience or skills in:

• High-quality service delivery and client management
• Consultancy within DE and HN projects
• Facilitating and delivering DE schemes across various organizations, meeting KPIs
• Overcoming barriers in DE projects through phases like feasibility, commercialization, procurement, and delivery
• Knowledge of DE technologies and solutions
• Customer relationship development
• Understanding of metering, billing regulations, and government policies on HN
• Programme management, reporting, and organizational skills
• Knowledge of building energy demands and relevant regulations (e.g., CP1, Part L)
