About This Role

We are currently seeking a conscientious and committed cleaner to join us onsite and provide a happy and safe environment for both staff and students. This is a hands-on role that requires energy and passion for a spotless environment. You must work to a high standard, have attention to detail, and most importantly, take pride in your work. Cleaning experience is preferred; however, full training will be provided. Hours are 3pm-7.30pm, Monday - Friday, term time only + INSETs.

Ormiston Six Villages Academy is an exciting and supportive place to work. We aim to inspire a love of lifelong learning. The academy is a secondary school for children aged 11-16, located in Chichester, West Sussex, with approximately 750 pupils.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Perform cleaning duties such as dusting, emptying bins, litter collection, sweeping, washing, vacuuming, scrubbing, buffing, polishing, and toilet cleaning in various areas of the establishment.
  • Assist in preparing rooms and work areas, including meeting rooms and classrooms.
  • Restock facilities like soap and paper towels; report low stocks.
  • Store equipment and chemicals appropriately.
  • Undertake specialised cleaning during school closures or designated periods.
  • Ensure safety and security of the building and its occupants.
  • Report safety issues to the line manager.
  • Complete work to expected standards within required timescales.
  • Report faults with materials or equipment.
  • Complete checklists to confirm work completion.
