Job description

Marketplaces Channels Manager

You will be responsible for JD outdoor marketplace external channel proposition, which includes marketplaces such as Amazon, B&Q, Secret Sales, eBay, amongst others. This is a central role with the opportunity to drive revenue and work on an enterprise-level P&L.

You will manage the catalogue on various marketplaces, ensuring smooth operation, order flow, and sales growth through channel optimisation. This involves listing new products correctly and optimising them on marketplace platforms, requiring a good understanding of operating at scale with data.

Comfortable use of Helium 10 for Amazon optimisation and the ability to list products on various platforms using flat files/offer files is essential.

This role involves communicating the commercial performance of accounts to the wider business through reporting and presentations.

A high level of Excel skill is required; basic knowledge of APIs would be helpful, but no coding is necessary.

JD Outdoor marketplaces sell hundreds of brands with thousands of SKUs. You need to operate at scale and work closely with the Buying and E-commerce teams to sell products effectively.

You will report directly to the Head of Marketplaces and have ownership of a team.

Job Duties
  1. Manage the overall external marketplace proposition on various selling platforms, including order flow, Seller Fulfilled Prime metrics, revenue, and paid/sponsored ads.
  2. Oversee and line manage one Executive and one Junior Developer in maintaining connections and uploading products.
  3. Manage paid advertising strategies on Amazon and be comfortable using the Amazon Ad console.
  4. Liaise with partners at Amazon and other platforms to drive revenue and growth with our extensive catalogue.
  5. Explore new platforms, present business cases for new opportunities, and manage their integration.
  6. Organise and manage operations for Tier 1 sales events on Amazon, such as Prime Day.
  7. Prepare reports on performance by categories and products for the wider business.
  8. Develop a product launch process to ensure proper exposure and paid strategy for new products.
  9. Analyse trends and implement trading events based on business needs on the marketplaces.
  10. Maintain seller health metrics to ensure compliance with marketplace SLAs.
